Zebra Huddle is now more open!
« on: March 25, 2011, 09:39:05 pm »
Hello all,

An important change is happening here at Zebra Huddle. Starting today, the only ref-only section in which new topics may be posted is the Ethics section. The other sections will allow replies to existing topics until current topics run their course. After that point, those sections will be set to read-only as an archive.

Nothing that has been posted to the ref-only section will be made public, as all who posted there did so under the expectation of a certain degree of privacy. Zebra Huddle will not betray that.
The types of discussions that would have occurred in the ref-only section (other than ethics discussions) should now happen in the public areas. This will help to promote transparency and minimize any feeling of there being an "Us vs Them" mentality between refs and skaters.

This does mean that rules discussion based on strategy will happen in the public areas of Zebra Huddle. Please remember that we are here to understand how to officiate when certain strategies are employed, not to discuss what a skater should do in a certain situation.

I hope this will also make it easier to know where a topic should be posted.

Enjoy the new Zebra Huddle!
Your friendly Zebra Huddle admin.

Sorry, but so I don't put something in the wrong place...

Should rules discussions about strategy be posted in the main rules area?
(where, previously, strategy wasn't to be discussed)

Right, all rules discussion will now happen in the rules discussion area. It's not split in any way anymore
