Updated NSO manuals
« on: July 20, 2010, 02:15:46 am »
I just updated all of my NSO manuals in the Files section, save one.

Lineup tracking is waiting on a suggestion I've been given, but all of the rest are updated for the June 2010 rules.  The penalty box manual also now includes instructions on using the penalty box form from StatsBook.

As I have yet to learn how to use the jam timer form properly, I did not include that in the jam timer manual.

I've finally finished the updated lineup tracker manual, incorporating a new way of tracking passes suggested by Grand Poobah that makes a lot more sense (even if it's tricky to explain.)  I also fixed the jam timer manual to include the "no new jam if 30 seconds or less in the period unless a time-out is called" bit.

I also added a new manual.  The Head NSO Workbook is a set of checklists and forms I use to organize my thoughts, gear, and staff before, during, and after Bout Day.  It includes a couple extra bits... how I triage NSOs in case of a bout day emergency or a volunteer staffing shortfall, a sample email to NSOs pre-bout day, and sample NSO meeting notes.  As with the rest of the manuals, this is just how I do it.  Standard disclaimers apply... you may have far better ways or far different ways to do the job.

NOTE:  REFLMAO just pointed out that in Roc City, scoreboard operator falls under bout production, not NSOs.  So, they are completely absent from my checklists.  You may want to add them in.

Can't thank you enough for these manuals.  They're still the best thing out there to explain the basics.  Thanks a million x
I wanted to be Master of the Sith and ruler of the galaxy. But that destiny was not mine.  So I became an NSO.
