Stat Sheets
« on: August 30, 2011, 12:50:14 pm »
I have (somehow) inherited the job of entering all the Stat's into the workbook....  Does anyone know of anywhere to view a correctly filled in stat workbook?  Or is there copies of scanned sheets anywhere?  I understand that leagues make minor adjustments to their Bout day working sheets, but it would be nice to have a look at what the final product should look like to make sure mine is spitting out the correct accurate info and everything is feeding the right info into the right sheets

Are any of these stats sheets (filled in) uploaded to the ZH Files?

None currently. Is that a request?

I do recommend just filling one out though. It's a good learning experience to find the kinks. When excell will autocomplete. When it won't. Seeing that filling out the IBRF first propogates to all other sheets including the whiteboard helper sheets. Why the game summary doesn't fill itself out completely until everything is entered in. What relates to what. And even how to accidentally screw up completely and have to start over.

Just be sure to follow the instructions and only enter info on the pink sheets and of course that action, error, and jam tracking sheets if used. NOWHERE ELSE.

Indeed it is. :)

I found the instructions in the excel comments (and notes at the bottom of the sheets) to be very helpful.  However, I'd like to give a properly filled in (i.e., WFTDA accepted and not rejected) to my Head NSO.  Our league is currently non-affiliated but would like to do everything right, including the paperwork.

Thanks for helping if you can. :)

Sorry. Been away for a bit. I have sheets with all pink tabs complete. Our league rarely uses the optional tabs (action, error, jam tracker), and so the summaries dealing with that info do not complete. Anyone with a full sheet willing to share?

Show your work (cite the rules). And did you actually see all three parts (Initiation, contact, impact ?)

EDIT: Dog, I'm such a derby ref nerd.

I would love to see a fully completed stats book. I'm going to be running an officiating clinic of sorts (non-skating but not strictly NSO, if you know what I mean) and having our players come out. I'd like to be able to show them the kinds of things we are currently able to track with extremely limited and inexperienced NSOs vs. what we *could* have.

They always seem to get interested whenever there are stats beside their player numbers and I hope that encourages them to get family/friends to volunteer.

I am also looking for a complete and accurate book to print and show to the NSOs in my crew as we're doing in-depth training. I am currently the one that compiles the stats, but I am sorely lacking in ACCURATE/COMPLETE sheets to distribute as samples.  So many times, the bout sheets I receive are missing skater numbers or penalty codes are left blank, etc.

I could probably dig up some from 2010 Playoffs... The shame of it is that I'm a hoarder and just finally tossed out the actual hand-written sheets.

All WFTDA stats are public, BTW.

Hey Everyone!

How do you guys handle inaccuracies with the paperwork?  The last bout that we had, I noticed an offset in the jam number on the penalty sheets vs the line-up tracker.  Would you correct the jam number on the penalty sheet as it is entered into the spreadsheet, or would you leave the data as it was written by the NSO?

One is a data integrity issue of electronic vs the paperwork, and the other is a data integrity issue within the spreadsheet!  Wanting to make sure I have all my ducks in a row as we are now going to be sending our paperwork in!

I had a line up tracker at the last bout who had two jams no. 8 on his sheet (it took me forever to figure it out). But of course you correct this if you can.

I'm right now preparing the stats sheets for the upcoming Ghent vs. Brighton bout.

I have a question on the rosters, in an unexpanded sheet you have 16 rows to fill in (per team). Naturally you fill in all the players in rows 1 to 14 (or less if it is not a full roster). This leaves me with 2 rows per team to fill in the alternates.

Well I have one team for whom they have 2 alternates (will probably not play on bout day, given there are no injuries in tonight's training) and two different off-skates (Coach and Line-up coach). Do I put all of them on the sheet? Only the alternates? Only the Off-skates crew just like they would occupy the teambench?
