All blockers are skaters, but not all skaters are blockers.

Or, another way to look at it, "skater" is another term for "player" in the rules.

Seer, I agree, IF the two pivots would have been caught. In my situation, the second pivot wasn't noticed until after the jam AND after a star pass. What Clique is saying is that she should have gotten a major for too many skaters on the track, even though there was only 4 blockers and one jammer. Clique quoted a clarification from 2009 as his reasoning. I removed the points as Points Awarded in Error as I was the jam ref this bout but Professor Murder said they should have stayed because they were not awarded in error because the 2nd pivot who received the star pass earned the points and the ref crew didn't catch it until after the jam when an Official Review was called.

Got it, in that case the points stay, admit the error and move on, it happens. The only time a major is issued for too many skaters(or pivots) on the track is if the jam is called for that reason. If the jam went to its natural conclusion I would not issue a penalty.
