There will be a 2 hour scrimmage portion that is FREE to skaters skating. So, that the referees at the clinic will get a chance to practice some of the techniques learned. Please share with your leagues. The scrimmage is open to anyone insured and passed their WFTDA minimum skill assessments.

Thanks all!

Who are the two referee's giving the clinic? Also, the WFTDA testing that is listed on the website, is this the official referee certification test?

If you link to the brown paper tickets (second link) it gives all the details in a nice clean format.

The referees running are Seer Sin and Dj Jazzy Ref.

This is the official WFTDA test and will be administered by the appropriate officials.

Other fun notes, the Magic City Misfits will be helping with the skating portion. I jammer refereed them this weekend and have seen them at camp Who Bad. These are some extremely talented skaters!

I hope more refs will join us for this. It should be fun and educational, what more can you ask for? Also check out some youtube videos of the Magic City Misfits, they have some mad skating skills. And having mad skating skills of your own is sure to make you a better referee.

Remember, any clinic is an opportunity to meet officials from your area/region, and build your knowledge base.  Meet folks you've only met online.  Make new friends.  Find new ways to look at officiating problems and come up with answers to those problems.  Expand your knowledge & experience base.

If you have the means & the opportunity, take it.  This sport is still in its infancy, and opportunities of this type are still rarer than most of us would like them to be.

Why not my first post be about the clinic?
 :-)
I'm a ref in training with the Marietta Derby Darlins, a new team in the Atlanta area, and I am registered for this clinic.  I have 4 league skaters coming for the scrimmage, and I am looking forward to the experience.

I also have some events to staff this season, so I guess maybe a post about that might be my next.

Thelonious,  While you are at the clinic, you might just find some great contacts to help fill those vacant positions. For young leagues or leagues with limited referees, networking is a must.  :)
