Is skating around the inside of the track benefiting her improperly?

In the example I'm thinking of she was skating around the outside of the track...

I think Darkjester has hit the mentality behind the situation.  Define the advantage she gained.  That is where the impact is.  Just my opinion.

Ok, her advantage is this... Skating OOB but next to the pack for that extended period meant that she got back in behind one offensive blocker instead of three (the other two she already passed legally).

The second sentence of the SOOB penalty defines the impact and differentiates SOOB with Cutting the track.  I call SOOB majors anytime a skater enters the infield, skates across  the centerline and re-enters the track onto the other side of the infield.

So there definately wasn't a "Cutting short her distance" as the outside of the track is longer..

No advantage there..

As for choose to enter later in the pack, she is still not on the track scoring points while the opposing Jammer is.  A smart trio of girls would have 'lengthened' the pack and made the jammer wait even longer to re-enter.
