Does your home league us it? If so, are you keeping paperwork as a backup during bout?

To the first part of the question (the first part of the first question)
yes Rinxter is used at the D1 & D2 tournaments.

As for if hard copy paper is also used, I do not know.

Rinxter is used at all Division I and II tournaments. In some cases paperwork is used as a backup in case of computer or network problems. Most game stats are recorded exclusively on Rinxter.

From my understanding.

Paper is being used fully at the tournaments.  Then after each period, those paper copies are imported into rinxter.  They were worried about hard crashes by rinxter.

Full Disclosure: I developed the RDNation Scoreboard, but I have heard plenty of chatter about whats going on at the Tournaments.

Nope.  Penalty trackers are using Rinxter, live, while the game is going on.  Penalty wranglers are using paper as a backup.  Lineup trackers are using Rinxter, live, while the game is going on.  Lineup spotters are using paper as a backup.  Scorekeepers are using Rinxter, live, while the game is going on, and have paper as a backup.  This is very similar to the way it has been done at other tournaments, such as Brewhaha (with the addition of lineup spotters doing full paperwork here).

Also, the scoreboard is not being run through Rinxter. They are using Carolina Scoreboard.

No, all of the data is being input using netbooks.

For an efficient use of Rinxter you need to use keyboard shortcuts. A hardware keyboard is way superior for this.
On a touchscreen tablet you would need to constantly minimize the software keyboard that covers the things you need to highlight on the screen.

Don't look at the game with rules-tinted glasses; look at the rules with game-tinted glasses!

Just a heads up: Using and owning the RDNation scoreboard, we have seen problems with older Android Mobile Browsers to collect the data which can be seen in Rinxter as well.  So if you do use mobile Android devices to collect data, be sure to use a Firefox or Opera as they are compliant.  The standard browser that comes with Android isn't totally compliant yet with HTML standards and does odd things when collecting data.

If you want to know more, we talk about it here in our wiki.  http://wiki.rdnation.com/Stats_Collection#Using_Handheld.2FMobile_Devices
