Help me: Carolina Scoreboard to projector setup
« on: May 09, 2014, 06:25:16 pm »
Hi. Bout day and I am tasked with setting up the scoreboard...a leaguemate's last minute illness has put me in a pickle! I have set up the Carolina Scoreboard with all the relevant data. I have connected it to the projector. The projector is displaying my entire desktop. How do I project the scoreboard view(only) and still have access to the operator controls on my desktop. BTW I am running on a 2009 Imac. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!!!

You need to have the projector (which is basically a secondary monitor) set up so your desktop is expanded onto it.   Then you put the controls on Monitor 1 and the scoreboard on Monitor 2.

I'm not familiar with iMacs, but in Windows there usually an option called "Extend my Desktop onto this Monitor" that needs to be clicked.  I'm sure there's something similar in Macs.

I don't use a Mac, so I'm of limited help, but the key thing you're trying to do is "extend" the display, rather than "mirror" it.  This link may help: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5019.  If not, try Googling for your specific operating system and "extend display."

Once you're connected and extended, you'll be able to drag a window of the "main scoreboard" view to the right or left side of your monitor and it'll appear on the projector display.

Apple menu > System Preferences... > Displays

then start fiddling with things until you get it right.  :o
You will bout as you practice.
