Nashville Rollergirls have planned a bunch of events outside of the games to be played during Champs. We are looking for officials to staff these. So if you're coming to Champs anyway, please apply and you may get some fun opportunities.

Here are the various events that are currently planned:

Wednesday 7:30pm at NRG practice space: NRG vs Victorian scrimmage Only NSOs are needed for this one
Thursday 2-4pm at NRG practice space: London vs Blue Ridge (BR to use a couple fill-ins) scrimmage
Thursday 8pm at NRG practice space: NRG vs Berlin scrimmage
Sunday 6:30am and 8:30am at Municipal Auditorium: Black and white scrimmage(s)

Apply here Application closed

Note: These are open to any official, not only those who are staffed for Champs.

I'm so sorry, I know this is nit-picky and I don't want to derail the thread, but I have to point this out (this is zebrahuddle after all :P).

Wednesday 7:30pm at NRG practice space: NRG vs Victorian scrimmage Only NSOs are needed for this one

I assume this is VRDL from Australia? If that's the case then Victoria is the name of the state and Victorian is the adjective describing someone or something from Victoria. I know the confusion comes because their full name is written Victorian Roller Derby League. I think it's because Victoria is one of the few places that actually has it's own demonym. If you want to know what it feels like every time I see or hear "Victorian" (and it happens a lot), imagine a league called The Canadian Roller Derby League, then seeing the line up: Gotham vs Canadian... kinda grates on the grammar nerves doesn't it :P

So, it's best to call them Victoria or VRDL. If you can pass this around, the girls will love you for it :D

I heard the announcers mention this at Evansville. I am dealing with dumb Americans (I'm including myself in that), so I wrote the way that would be the most recognizable.

I also work with a ton of Aussies who would probably give me hell for that.
