Just a little tease
« on: January 29, 2010, 11:35:15 pm »
Coming soon to the ZH store for pre-order. Will be available in a few different models (some with various colors available).

I apologize for the blurry camera phone pictures, but I wanted to get these up here pretty quick.
And yes, they are domed decals, not just simple stickers.

Yay for the ones with the little bitey pads on them, for those of us who tend to be a little more dentally harsh upon our whistles!
You will bout as you practice.

Are these coming from the standard range of Fox40s? And do they include the new Blast? (I'm a complete whistle geek...)

That's not to say I won't buy one. I mean, I definitely will, just curious is all.

I'm unsure as to which whistles I will be offering. Talking to suppliers and figuring that kind of stuff out.
It will likely be the majority of the Fox 40 line. One of the whistles pictured above is a Sonik Blast CMG.

I love my Sonic Blast.  It's the kind of whistle you know a skater can't claim to have no heard.

I love my Sonic Blast.  It's the kind of whistle you know a skater can't claim to have no heard.

I like it as a backup for extremely loud situations. The pitch is significantly different from the Classic, which is a downside as far as I'm concerned.

Our venue gets crazy loud, so all the refs have to signal to get a jam to end. The whistle pitch of the classic is something everyone, the refs, skaters, and crowd get used to. It seems like throwing the different pitch of the sonic in the mix makes the signal harder to recognise.

I'm not talking about the Sonik. That has a sound that is different, yet similar enough to the Classic. The Sonik Blast sounds nothing at all like the Classic, or the Sonik. Having a different sound is not really something good, in my opinion.

Anyway, if there is a specific model that you feel especially important for me to carry, please tell me here.

It's my understanding that Fox40 ditched the old Sonik in favour of the Blast. At least, that's what I found when I went to order new Soniks (I love my Soniks, but apparently I give them a bit too much love). What kind of different is the sound?

The pitch is totally different from the other Fox 40 whistles.
I'm able to find Soniks available for sale, but Fox 40 has removed it from their website. I'm writing them an email right now to find out what the deal is.

I'm guessing Fox is pulling that model from their product line, and you are finding stock for sale that is still in the retail pipeline. I've found if it ain't on their website, you won't be getting it from them.
